Pomegranate Hibiscus Margarita
I make a lot of cocktails this time of year. Which is not that different from the rest of the year, but play along with me here, mmmkay? Sometimes you just want to whip up something that's simple, yummy, and still gorgeous to behold--especially when you're entertaining around the holidays. Maybe you don't want to play bartender and you want to set a few easy ingredients out and scream, "MAKE IT YOURSELF!!!" to your baffled, cocktail-entitled guests.
But don't just grab any old mixers. Set out some Stirrings. Why? Because they've got some awesome mix flavors, rimming garnishes, and bar ingredients, and also the packaging is adorable and looks fabulous sitting out on your home bar. You can do something as simple as adding a bit of mixer to a glass of bubbly, or get creative and layer them into a more complex cocktail (like I did with these Pomegranate Hibiscus Margaritas utilizing both the Pomegranate Martini Cocktail Mix and the Pomegranate Rimmer)(YEAH I KNOW IT SAYS MARTINI, but I put it in a margarita, okay? I have a problem with authority).
So let's make a festive and tart holiday marg...which should also be enjoyed the rest of the darned year.
P O M E G R A N A T E H I B I S C U S M A R G A R I T A
Makes one serving.
1.5 oz. silver tequila
1 oz. elderflower liqueur
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1.5 oz. hibiscus tea
1:1 mixture of Stirrings Pomegranate Rimmer mixed with sea salt
Lime wedge, edible flower, and rosemary sprig for garnish
Prep glass by rimming with lime juice and dipping in the rimmer-salt mixture. Fill glass with crushed ice.
In a cocktail shaker with ice, add tequila, cocktail mix, elderflower liqueur, lime juice, and hibiscus tea. Shake until chilled and strain into prepped glass. Garnish with lime, flower, and rosemary.
So cheers to simple, fun cocktails getting us through the holidays. And into the New Year. And for the rest of the year.
