The Chicken Bar

It's official: we put an outdoor bar in...

...the chicken yard.

Okay okay before you start freaking out it's not really IN the chicken yard--it's chicken yard-adjacent. Because I'm not crazy. I'm crazy-adjacent.

You do have to enter the Chicken Garden,

and hang a left at the frog fountain,

and then head through the Willy Wonka-y gate into the actual bar area. This way, the chickens are only allowed in when you actually want them to be--aka when you can stand over them with a drink and yell at them to leave your cocktail ingredient plantings alone.

Annnnnnnnd cue the chicken poop questions. The chickens are not allowed on the bar top, or anywhere where food/drink is prepped. While I clearly encourage people to drink and hang with their poultry, I want to make sure I holler really loud about being very careful and clean with it. Keep your hands clean. Keep your barware clean. Keep your work surfaces clean. DO NOT let your chickens run amok wherever they want. It's actually very simple to be safe and sanitary: don't put anything that has touched a chicken on or near your mouth. This isn't rocket surgery.

The bar is a convenient place for us to hang out and mix drinks, grow some cocktail ingredients, and sit and stare at our chickens like the mildly eccentric people that we are.

BUT...there is a bigger method to our madness with this than just being able to hang out with our birds. We built this bar in order to have a place to start filming a little bit of video content for you guys. A Drinking with Chickens show, if you will. I'm not going to divulge all the details yet, but...yanno...there will be cocktails, and there will definitely be chickens. So if that sounds like something you might want to waste a few minutes distracting yourself from work with from time to time, then do go ahead and subscribe to our YouTube channel, and while you're at it, sign up for our mailing list so that you get all the obnoxious notifications when the first episode drops.

And stay tuned because while The Chicken Bar is "done enough" for me to be unveiling it, we've got a few more fun additions up our sleeves before it's TRULY done.
