Galentine's Party with KOVAL...and Chickens
Here's an idea: let's do a pretty little Galentine's Day Cocktails + Painting Party. Let's make some art. Let's have some gorgeous, gorgeous spirits from KOVAL Distillery with which to make said cocktails. And then let's just turn some chickens loose. What could go wrong. What could possibly go wrong?!
Seems like a completely stable concept to me!
I mean...painting chickens is fun, right? (Paintings OF chickens, not painting ON chickens...for the record)(but I did think about it...for a second...).
You've got to love a group of ladies that come together and let me force them into painting poultry. While actual poultry swoops in and lands in the middle of the damned paint. Yes. It happened. But everyone's fine, and everyone's clean...now. Let's just keep drinking!
But those cocktails, though. Our gorgeous KOVAL fairy godmother, Jamie, arrived and brought with her a magical trunk full of liquor and fairy dust. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL bottles of KOVAL liquors and liqueurs were laid out before us. How could we resist???
Jamie patiently led us through a whiskey tasting, while we simultaneously arted and wrangled chickens. Because, as a group, we are multitaskers. And then we also got to try several more of their other beautiful spirits. I mean...Barreled Gin? Peach Brandy? Yes, please. And also YES PLEASE.
Can we talk about the KOVAL packaging for a sec? Look at those bottles:
I get overly excited by pretty packaging...but then when the insides live up to the outsides? Mind extra blown.
Kinda a nice little metaphor for my group of gorgeous Galentines.
Was that too cheesy? GOOD CUZ I LOVE CHEESE.
Next up: we got to DIY our own champagne cocktails using KOVAL's line of lovely liqueurs alongside some fresh juices and garnishes from the cocktail garden.
And if that wasn't enough, our KOVAL fairy godmother also created a few gorgeous custom cocktails for us to sample, like this Gin + Rose creation (KOVAL Dry Gin, KOVAL Rose Hip Liqueur, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and rose petal ice cube):
We had such a fabulous evening filled with great friends, drinks, eats, arting, and interloping livestock--can't wait to do it all again next year!
Special thanks to KOVAL Distillery (and the lovely Jamie Stout), to Gina Ruccione of Wandering Whiskey Society for both whipping up an amazing meal and for all the help coordinating the party, Sarah Ehlinger of Very Sarie for her fabulous photog skillzzzz, and the rest of my girls (Alli, Heather, Kari, Prairie (Bit by a Fox), Joy, and Caiti) for all your contributions and for being THE BEST SPORTS EVER.
